--BASICS-- Everybody stand up!
Name: Whirlkit, Whirlpaw, Whirlwind, Whirlstar
Reason behind name: When he was a kit, he always loved to chase his long tail in endless circles. He had lots of energy as a kit, and usually enjoyed spinning around, chasing his tail. This is how his mother decided to name him Whirlkit, because it reminded her of a frenzied Whirlwind.
Gender: Tom
Age: 37
Position: Leader of Shadowclan!
Appearance: He has a strong build, being muscular, thick shouldered, and flexible. His fur is dark brown and white and his eyes are brown. His tail is all dark brown and is quite long.
Short Description: A dark brown and white muscular tom with brown eyes and a long tail.
--PERSONALITY-- Today's you're best shot!
Personality:Outside of his initial feelings towards his clan, Whirlwind has been shown to be extremely serious and mature for his age, and to have great self-control. In battle, he is able to stay relatively calm in most situations and carefully look at the situation at hand. He has excellent instincts, both on the battlefield and as a leader. When forced to make difficult decisions on missions, he shows himself able to make a decision through keen observation and analysis. Whirlwind used to conclude that fate is something decided at birth and that no matter what one does, people cannot escape their destiny. Whirlwind often applied this to people he viewed as weaker than himself. He concluded that, "a failure will always be a failure".
Whirlwind abandoned the concept of inescapable fate. Whirlwind resolved to become strong enough to never again lose a battle. To do so, he began putting more emphasis on working well with his Clan-mates, and started to value a mission's successful completion and his Clan-mates' safety over his own betterment, even encouraging weaker apprentices to continue pursuing their own dream. In addition, Whirlwind began trying to remedy the estranged relations between himself and the other Clan members, most particularly by being kinder to everyone, even the weaker ones.
Although he has expressed silence and controlled feelings toward his Clan-mate's and eccentricities. This goes to show that he has gone on to understand his Clan-mates better, and he himself has changed his views and beliefs to the point of opening up at times.
Ambition: Since he only has opened up a few times to the cats who are closest to him, few even wonder what his true ambition is. Some say that it is something heroic and adventurous, some just say it's something like, wanting to lead his Clan well. But his ambition is an honest ambition. Whirlstar resolved to become strong enough to never again lose a battle. He wanted to become strong so that he can protect his Clan-mates with all his strength.

--HISTORY-- You're a SPEED HUNTER, you can't be stopped!
Secrets: He has a lot of secrets, since he doesn't usually reveal much of his inner personality, only displaying it in action...so...a secret would probably be...he can't handle spicy food at all.
Family: At first, like any other kit, he loved his parents and siblings a lot. But there were times when the tensions were high, and their relationships were weaker. But soon everyone came to understand each other again, and their relationship was closer than ever. All of his family has since passed from sickness or battle.
History: When he was a kit, known as Whirlkit, he had a lively up-bringing. All of his family was close, even though their were a few tensions here and there. He was always surrounded by Clan-born cats. So, basically, he was simply a talented, young, healthy kit. He always enjoyed playing with his friends, and tried his hardest to be a good boy. He wanted to become a strong warrior like all the warrior cats around him that he admired. They also admired his ability too, and saw him as a very promising warrior. When he became an apprentice, he worked hard in everything he did, and made his mentor proud. Whirlpaw would go off on his own, and train himself, non-stop. He wanted to prove that he could be a great warrior, no matter what the circumstances. He eventually mastered a fighting technique that was unique to himself. He found out that by spinning rapidly, training his agility to the maximum, and training himself to be able to rapidly attack his enemies, leaving no opening in his defense of attacks, he could fight really well. He later showed up during a training session where fellow apprentices were training. His mentor was watching the other apprentices. Whirlpaw ran up and challenged his mentor to a spar, so that he could show him how much he had learned. They sparred, and his mentor couldn't even get a claw on Whirlpaw. His mentor tried all he knew, and he couldn't catch Whirlpaw off-guard, nor fight back against Whirlpaw's rapid attacks. All the cats were very amazed, and his mentor told the leader about it. Then it was decided that for sure, Whirlpaw would become an excellent, honorable warrior. Whirlpaw trained hard, always trying to do his best. During a battle over prey-stealing accusations from another clan, Whirlpaw proved to be an excellent and formidable fighter, being able to fend off three warriors at once attacking him from all sides. He had used his agility and his techniques to spin around and fight them all, one by one. He was left exhuasted by the battle so much that he collapsed and couldn't move out of exhaustion, but because of his efforts, Shadowclan sent the cats running back to their camp. When he recovered, the leader made him a warrior, and he was known as Whirlwind. Whirlwind worked hard in everything he did, and he was very well trusted by his leader. He turned out to be a great warrior, being able to successfully carry out all his missions and orders. Whirlwind looked up to his deputy and his leader very much, and many apprentices and kits looked up to him. He had proven his loyalty and strength to the Clan many times enough. Most of the Clan also thought that he would make a great deputy, and maybe leader. Later he was appointed deputy by the leader when the deputy died, and when the leader died, he became the leader, becoming Whirlstar

RP sample: Here's a super long one I wrote... A faraway voice clues me in... Morning light filtered through the gaps in the barriers of the camp. The sun was beginning to show its light, which spread throughout the entire camp, shrinking the shadows. The shadows of the morning receded away slowly, until the suns rays found the bodies of the sleeping warriors, one by one. The light shone on the sleeping brown and white body of a thick-bodied, and muscular tom cat with a long tail, and in response, he blinked open his brown eyes.
I opened my eyes early one morning... Whirlwind blinked open his eyes til they adjusted to the morning light. He was one of the first to wake up. Most of the other cats usually slept in til the rest of the morning. Seeing as no one else was up yet, he stood up and stretched, reaching his arms forward and stretching his shoulders, and waving his tail in satisfaction while he gaped his jaws in a yawn, while closing his eyes, and twitching his whiskers. He was out in the middle of the camp, under the endless sky with the others, because like most Windclan warriors, he liked to sleep out under the sky in the open.
No more doing the same stuff over and over... Since he had woken up earlier than most of the others, Whirlwind couldn't think of anything he would be needed to do, until the deputy and leader woke up and gave him an order or a nice job to do. Whirlwind ignored the fresh-kill pile, low from yesterday, and decided he would go out and do some solo hunting, early in the morning, before he would settle down with a morning snack, and then the deputy and leader would have woken up and everyone would begin their daily jobs and patrols.
It calls me unrelentingly... Whirlwind silently tip-toed over to the camp entrance, being careful not to wake anyone, and left the camp. He walked to the edge of the hill until the morning breeze coming off the lake buffeted him with its power. With it came the many scents of prey. Rabbits, mice, birds...Whirlwind caught the individual scent of a mouse, scuffling around among the dry grass, thinking it could try and find something to eat before it's predator woke up. Whirlwind began to walk forward softly, making sure to cause no vibrations on the ground under his paws, and making sure that his fur didn't brush loudly against the dry grasses.
My body shivers straight to the core... Whirlwind soon came within a few fox-lengths of the mouse he had scented at the top of the hill. The wind blowing from across the lake brought with it the faint scents of Riverclan, and Twolegs, and it muffled any sound that could come from his silent approach. He was downwind of the mouse, and it wouldn't notice anything unusual at all. Not to add that it would also be unsuspecting of an attack so early in the morning. Whirlwind crouched low and began to stalk forward, his weight balanced evenly and professionally on all four paws. His tail was held out straight and low for balance.
The energy rings out like violent stomping... Whirlwind pounced on the mouse and killed it off with a swift bite to the spine before it could even shriek in surprise. Whirlwind picked up the small bundle in his jaws, feeling the warmth of life seeping out of its body quickly, and it's limbs becoming stiff. By now, the sun was beginning to launch itself off the horizon, and make its way through the sky, the cloud's orange and red colors fading to white slowly. Whirlwind turned and headed back to the camp, beginning to hear the sounds of cats waking up. He padded casually into the camp, feeling wide awake from his early morning solo hunting. Most of the others were now beginning to get up and stretch. Whirlwind padded over back to where he had slept that morning, and settled down to chew on his mouse.
Here's another long one I wrote... The warm light of new-leaf shone down and lighted up the brown pelt of a huge tom cat warrior. As if in response, his whiskers twitched, and he slowly blinked open his eyes wearily. He slowly rose to his paws, the three metal rings cling tight to his right wrist. Howlingwind reached his arms forward in a long, satisfying stretch, and then he shook the moss that clung to his thick pelt. It was the morning after Pumpkinpaw, his first apprentice, had become a warrior and become Pumkinflower. Just as he had guessed; when Pumpkinflower had asked him what he thought her warrior name would be, he had no doubt that it would be a name like Pumpkinflower, because he knew that the name fit her so well. Just like the goodness and beauty of a flower, he had explained his reasoning. And he got it right, since she did become Pumpkinflower.
Howlingwind padded to the entrance of the warrior's den and looked up, narrowing his amber eyes in the bright new-leaf morning sun-light. It's useless. It's all futile. Nothing will ever change. You can't change your fate... he silently told himself. He thought. He shouldn't meddle with others business anymore. He wasn't even acceptable to Starclan as a warrior. But there wasn't anywhere else he could go. Return to his old Twolegs? Never! He would rather end life as it was now...than to ever see the faces of those twolegs; more beings that despised him, and sure never let him doubt it. They had made it known that he wasn't loved, nor wanted.
No. There was no point in even considering going back to them. Wander the wilderness as a rouge? He would be out of his way, and no one would have to suffer or worry because of him. But for some reason, Howlingwind knew he could never do that. He didn't know if he could come to agree with himself that he was actually afraid of such a lonely fate. As if he didn't already feel alone anywhere else. But he couldn't possibly imagine being totally alone; everyone a stranger, and everything done was only for his own survival.
Howlingwind shook his head. He couldn't understand his own feelings anymore. He didn't want to admit that he still loved Pumpkinflower and at least still wanted to be her friend, he wanted to be a warrior of Thunderclan, and to train more apprentices. He told himself that he had to leave them alone, and forget about all of his own personal desires. He thought he had no right to ever do anything for his own happiness. He thought his own happiness didn't matter at all anymore.
Should he keep going on like this? If he stayed here and kept going on like nothing ever happened, he couldn't ever forgive himself. But if he gave everything up, he knew that somewhere inside of him, he would never feel the same. What do I do now? he thought desperately. Howlingwind pushed away these troubling thoughts for now. Right here and now, he was fulfilling the role of a Thunderclan warrior, and he thought he ought to do something useful. Even though the voice in the back of his mind told him that no matter how hard he worked, no matter how hard he tried his best to be useful to the Clan, he would never be forgiven. So...futile. Foolishness! Why do you even try anymore?! Howlingwind did wonder why he didn't just give up by now...
Howlingwind opened his jaws in a wide yawn. He didn't know what to do, other than to just work even harder. He knew that he could never make up for what he had done to the Clans, but he didn't know what else he could possibly do. He decided to go see if Whitewind had anything for him to do. Although it seemed that the deputy was sometimes in a bad mood, or just had something against him, he didn't think there would be any reason why she couldn't give him something to do for the Clan.
Howlingwind walked into the clearing shyly, his head low, but his eyes gazing calmly ahead of him. Stay calm. No one needs to worry about your troubles. The last thing you want to do is let them be bothered by your own burden. he told himself, trying to seem as casual as possible. Howlingwind dipped his head respectfully to the deputy Whitewind, and greeted the cats in the clearing. "Good morning, Whitewind, Pumpkinflower, and Yangheart." he meowed in his usual deep voice. "Is there anything I can do for you today, Whitewind?" he offered.
And here's what a shorter one is like...(most common I guess...but when I got a lot of muse, I go for the big ones.) Whirlwind led the way out. He was leading the patrol, and he intended to lead it well. He ran through the entrance of the camp and stood outside, waiting for the others to come too. He remembered that Leopardstar would want him to check all the borders, and also to check the fox den to make sure they wouldn't come back. He beckoned with his tail for the warriors to follow. Close behind, Bluefur, a senior, yet still young, warrior, followed behind him. He gazed behind him at his patrol, still waiting for them to join.
He raised his head and yowled in an experienced commanding voice. "Come on. We don't have all day. We need to check all the borders, and the fox den to make sure that the foxes that Leopardstar and Wildpaw chased off didn't try and come back. We will also be keeping a look out for Rakshastar and Swiftheart's murderers."
