Whirlstar, Sandclaw and Appleleaf
Only about four sunrises after the Gathering, Leaf-bare had its tight grip on the forest. Whirlstar led his whole clan in solemn, silenced tension. The dry air crackled with the pent up anger of the cats. They soon found themselves standing at the edge of their territory, glaring out across the Thunderpath at the thick trees beyond.
It was about the time when a Clan would send out all its hunting patrols and border patrols, that time before mid-day when the Clan would settle down to eat fresh-kill or train apprentices or simply chat and share tongues, so Whirlstar expected some Thunderclan cat to notice a whole Clan of angry cats glaring at them.
Whirlstar stepped forward from the crowd of Clan-mates, and yowled loudly across the Thunderpath. "Thunderclan!!! Come and face us, you cowardly, fox-hearted murderers!!!"
Appleleaf and Sandclaw stood among their bristling Clan-mates, their eyes narrowed as they glared out across the Thunderpath. Today, there would be a war. But this war was for good reason. Such a fox-hearted act could never be forgiven!

Tigerstar padded briskly towards their border with ShadowClan. She had most of her Clan in tow, prepared for a battle. Enough cats to defend the camp were left behind though, if case those fox hearted cats decided to attack there. She was planning on going there and waited for a patrol of some sort, unless they didn't bother marking it. Although as the wind shifted, and they neared the border, the she smelled many cats. Upon coming into border's view, she felt a small smile twitch onto her mouth, eyes still narrowed as she heard his call. Her tail had twitched for her Clan to stay hidden for a few moments, as the wind was blowing towards them anyway.
"Amazing timing, Whirlstar, amazing timing. It appears such even fox-hearted murderers such as yourselves aren't completely mouse-brained." she mewed calmly. Of course they would have known there was an impending battle, but why not pick at them anyway? She was itching to tear her claws into them, those who had killed her Clan! She took a few moments to take in his Clan, a twitch of a smile once again appearing. "I see you brought quite the fighting force..." she mewed, her tail signaling for them to come out now, and she rose her head high. "I brought my own." her words rang strong and clear, and obviously a challenge for him to make the first move. Her claws unsheathed themselves, and she could hear several cats behind her begin to growl in anticipation. Silentvoice was back there too, muscles tensing and claws kneadi ng the dirt.

FERNTAIL.TIGERCLAW. BRIGHTPAW.
Ferntail padded loyally beside her leader, her eyes firm as she watched the path on which they walked on, Thunderclan, shall pay she thought fiercly. Stopping, she heard Whirlstars strong voice ring out. Tigerclaw moved silently with the crowd, his large body heeved as he breathed, his muscles rippled under his shiny, tiger-like coat, the sharp amber eyes glared around him, as if an enemy was just around the corner ready to pounce and kill them all. His fur bristled, he was slightly excited, it was his first battle as a warrior. Brightpaw snuck out behind the clan, following them silently without being seen, she wouldn't be missed surely in the camp, would she?
'Us? Foxhearted? You must be mouse-brained Tigerstar, we did not kill a single warrior of yours!' Ferntail hissed, her long tail lashed at the ground, and she took a step forward. Tigerclaw growled, this wasn't good, surely they all knew a war was about to happen between the two clans? Brightpaw. listened from a little rock, 'Thunderclan would never hurt a single cat!' she squeeked, falling off, as Tigerclaw turned his head to see where the little voice came from. He shrugged it off, thinking he'd been hearing things.

Patchsong padded up from behind her leader and growled. If it was one thing she didn't like it was fighting. Yet she knew when it came to times like this she wasnt allowed to back down. Still giving a low growl she scanned the cats on the other side of where they were. She wanted to get a good look at her enemies before she killed them or gave them a good message. Whirlstar, Appleleaf and Sandclaw and Ferntail. Patchsong couldnt help it but say, "Shadowclan cats are known to be quite good liars. Come on Whirlstar, just admit it and no blood will need to be shed. Of course even if you did there would still be a battle. So either way.. the last thing you really want to do is mess with us."

Hiddenheart
Drifting in and out of the occasional shadows, Hiddenheart moved with the rest of his clan to the ThunderClan border, breathing in the dry leaf-bare air. Paws glided lightly over the ground, claws already unsheathed for what he knew would be an inevitable battle. Only a mouse-brain, and a very deluded one at that, could fool themselves into thinking otherwise; ThunderClan had killed some of their cats and therefore enraged the whole clan. He could practially feel the air vibrating with the anger and tension. The warrior slowed to a halt along the edge of the Thunderpath, and as one, the groupd seemed to peer over into the other clan's territory. For a moment, it appeared as though no cat would answer Whirlstar's challenge, but his eyes widened imperceptively as the bushes rustled and what seemed like all of ThunderClan strode out. The other clan had planned to attack them as ShadowClan had the ThunderClanners. Oddly fitting.
From farther down the line, Hiddenheart heard Ferntail return Tigerstar's heated words with one of her own, and an ear twitched as a ThunderClan apprentice tried to counter it. He could barely hear the high pitched words and had little time to dwell before another warrior spoke up, her words audible and comprehendable. Despite his control, the midnight tom felt the fur on his spine rise slightly at the comment, and he replied loudly, "At least we're good at something, even if it may be lying."
Kestrelclaw
The bengal she-cat could feel the tension hanging thick in the air between the two clans, and she eyed the ShadowClan group with a critical eye. Her own claws, like many of her clanmate's, were unsheathed and digging slightly into the frozen ground. She could tell the fight was inevitable, and while the other cats traded insults, she assessed their opponents. It seemed as though, like ThunderClan, ShadowClan had brought every cat they could spare, apprentices included. The she-cat had confidence in her own fighting abilities as well as that of her clan. They could beat ShadowClan; they always had been and they would always be able to best ShadowClan in a fight.

"Just because your good at something that is actually frowned upod doesnt make your clan the best" Patchsong hissed back. She was getting restless and wanted to draw some blood already. She was amazed at herself that she didnt jump at a warrior only a few feet infront of her already. "Words dont do anything! Why not just fight already!!" she growled. She lashed her tail and narrowed her eyes at Shadowclan. she was ready then ever for this one. The ground was going to warm up soon with the heat of bodies on the floor and blood being spilled.

Whirlstar, Sandclaw and Appleleaf
Whirlstar narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but waited patently. Did Tigerstar intend to make him go fight Thunderclan on their territory? Shadowclan cats were stealthy, yes, but wouldn't all that undergrowth get in the way? He preferred the nice clearing of space on Shadowclan's side by the Thunderpath, and wanted Tigerstar to fight him there. "Well now, are we going to stand here all day, glaring at each other, or are Thunderclan cats too cowardly to attack us like they did to our fallen comrades!?" He yowled challengingly to Tigerstar.
Sandclaw flattened her ears and hissed when she heard Patchsong insult Shadowclan. She trotted up to the front and glared out at Patchsong. "Shadowclan is not so fox-hearted as you Thunderclan cats that we would even care to attack your pathetic batch of cowardly fox-faces!" She hissed. "You cowards don't even have the nerve to attack us, because you know that you killed our warriors!"
Appleleaf let his yowl join in with the angry yowls of his Clan-mates. "So what if we're good liers! That just proves that Thunderclan is full of oblivious cats, and Shadowclan is full of smart cats!" He yowled.
Howlingwind and Emberpaw
Howlingwind stood beside his leader, glaring out at Shadowclan. They would pay for their fox-hearted act! As much as he wanted to rush out and begin ripping those Shadowclan cats apart, he would let Tigerstar give the signal. Or did she intend to lure Shadowclan across the Thunderpath to attack them on Thunderclan's territory? He didn't care where the fight would take place, because he had been waiting too long to avenge the death of his precious clan-mates!
Emberpaw stood near the back of the group of Thunderclan cats, his ginger fur fluffed out and his heart thrumming away in his broad chest. This would be his first battle as an apprentice! But he was nervous. Anyone would be nervous, right?

Tigerstar glared across the clearing but was able to keep her head fairly clear. She had no desire to trap her Clan between ShadowClan and the Thunderpath. No, she would make them come to her. "Well you obviously had the intent to cross and attack anyway, and you got here first. You crossed to kill my Clanmates. And our Medicine Cat Apprentice. What is stopping you from crossing now?" she hissed her counter challenge back, green gaze narrowed. "And I believe the lying bit was meant to mean that you are just as fox-tongued as you are hearted. Apparently mouse-hearted too, too scared to come at us on our own territory!" she added, tail raised.

Patchsong gave a growl to the cats and was ready for them to get over the border finally so she could tear up some fur. "Who knows what Starclan was thinking when they put you all here on the earth! Smell like that I would rather be rolling in something else, say your own blood thats gonna be on the ground in ten seconds!" she yelled. Her tail lashed from side to side and still stayed where she was because knowing her leader she felt as if she was trying to make them make the first move.

Hiddenheart
The insults aimed at his clan sparked Hiddenheart's anger, but he was not about to let it rule his actions. He would not become so blinded by his ire that he foolishly crossed the border. The ebony tom understood the powerplays between the two leaders. Whirlstar wanted ThunderClan to cross over into ShadowClan territory, not only so they had the upperhand in a territory they knew, but so ThunderClan would be trapped between the Thunderpath and their opponents. They would have no place to run and Hiddenheart knew that ShadowClan had a decent chance of overpowering the other clan. A moment later, he corrected himself; they had always had a decent chance of beating the clan--it was obvious that ShadowClan was superior--but if ThunderClan was trapped, it would only make the job easier. Of course, the trick was to get the thick-headed ThunderClan cats so blinded by anger that they fell into that trap. Unfortunately, it seemed as though Tigerstar had seen through Whirlstar's idea, but what if they angered one of the lesser warriors to make them rush across? Surely the rest would follow...

Whirlstar, Sandclaw and Appleleaf
Whirlstar flattened his ears and snarled at Tigerstar. "Don't try to make excuses, especially with the same reason I made! Shadowclan killed no warrior of yours, but Shadowclan will take revenge on your pack of mangy rats for your unforgivable crime! Come out and fight us, you filthy cowards! We're not going to wait all day!"
Whirlstar knew that both leaders wanted the slight advantage of fighting on their own territory. But there was more space on Shadowclan's side. The clearing where Sunslash, Ravenedge, Featherpelt and Skysting were m urdered. He wanted to avenge their deaths with their spirits beside his warriors. He also didn't want to cross the Thunderpath with his whole clan, but at this rate, it appeared that Tigerstar was too stubborn to realize that the clan needed space to fight, or a few might accident-ly get too close to the Thunderpath during the battle. He would try once more to persuade her and her pack of mangy fox-hearted cowards before he knew that his comrades in Starclan could wait no longer to be avenged.
Howlingwind and Emberpaw
Howlingwind flattened his ears against his neck and bared his fangs at the Shadowclan cats. "How dare you mangy fox-hearts accuse us of killing your warriors!" The fur along Howlingwind's neck rose, and Emberpaw could feel his heart race as the tension skyrocketed every second. Still, he remained quiet while admiring his brave father for standing up to such fierce cats. These cats had killed their warriors! Would they kill cats of Thunderclan here again!?

Nightfeather snarled as she stood alongside her clanmates, her claws unsheathing in sheer fury. How DARE those mangy warrior-killers claim that Shadowclan killed their warriors! And to add to it, she practically saw Thunderclan run away from the scene of her murdered clanmates! Yet, they still denied it! Black fur bristling along her back, Nightfeather's white-tipped tail swished through the air. She held in her anger for as long as she could while the others shot accusations at each other, but finally released it when she couldn't hold it in any longer. "Thunderclan will never be forgiven for killing our warriors! Only you would be foxhearted enough to go around slaughtering other warriors for no reason! The only thing that will cure my hatred for your terrible acts is to see Thunderclan blood hit the ground!" Nightfeather snarled, baring her teeth at the line of Thunderclan cats. There would always be a hole in her heart from losing Ravenedge, her only friend in the whole clan, and she would never forgive Thunderclan for killing him. Amber eyes ablaze, Nightfeather stood patiently, hoping that someone would make the first move. Her claws were aching to tear some Thunderclan fur and flesh.

Tigerstar narrowed her eyes, fur bristling at the accusations and threats. Lies, all of it, she knew. Her gaze became cold and calculating as she scrutinized the situation and ground before her. Her side did have much brush, giving them the upper hand in any battle over her. Their side was more open, but it was bright out, so their main advantage of darkness and ambush was gone as well. Her own side had a slight curve as well, which could be good or bad depending on how the battle turned. And she did not want to appear weak by refusing to compromise on where the battle was held. A decision had been made. "ThunderClan has no cowards, and we will cross. I hope you can say the same for your own warriors and grant us a safe crossing at least. " she growled, eyes accusing and cold, as if daring the ShadowClan leader to be so bold and foxhearted. She twitched her tail, signalling her Clan to line up along the Thunderpath for which her Clan was named, and watched it. The path was clear it seemed, save for one or two monsters. It should be safe to cross all together. "On my signal..." she mewed loud enough for them to all here... "One..." she called, watch a lone monster rumble their way and looking carefully for others. "Two..." almost to them... "Three!" she called right as the last monster cleared the road, and pelted across as fast as she was able while carefully watching her Clanmates. Had their been a straggler, she would dart back to them and haul them across before padding to the front of the safe Clan.
She paused for a moment, fur bristling, taking in the situation. "Attack!" she yowled. "We will avenge our Clanmates on these lying fools!" she hissed, trying to drive the ShadowClanners back a bit from the Thunderpath before aiming her sights and claws on Whirlstar. She didn't want either Clan to suffer loses to the twoleg monsters, and she was hopeful Whirlstar had a similar thought. This battle had reason, but a cat killed by a monster was a pointless death.
Claws outstretched, she lunged for the ShadowClan leader.

Whirlstar, Sandclaw and Appleleaf
The corner of his lip rose with a slight smile, brief relief that Tigerstar had finally decided to attack first. As the Thunderclan cats raced across the Thunderpath, he whispered, under his breath, a quick prayer to Starclan. "Sunslash, Ravenedge, Skysting, Featherpelt, we are going to avenge your deaths today!" Whirlstar kept his tail straight up in the air, making his clan wait until the Thunderclan cats had made it across the Thunderpath. He did not want to take his clan near the Thunderpath at all. A fatal accident on the Thunderpath, at a time like this, would be absolutely pointless. Once Thunderclan was completely over the Thunderpath, his long dark tail whipped around as he yowled. "Shadowclan! Attack!!"
He led his clan forward, and he sped straight for Tigerstar, who was also lunging at him, claws out-stretched. Immediately, with excellent agility, he ducked head-first down to the right, then, his whole body following, whirled around under Tigerstar's out-stretched claws, and barely missing those sharp needles by a whisker, but all together evading the attack with a well practiced maneuver.
Now facing the Thunderclan leader from her left flank, he hesitated not a moment to spring at her, attempting to bowl her over mid-leap, with his arms reaching around her shoulders attempting to tackle her and hold her by her chest with his arms around her shoulders, gripping tightly as he tackled her.
Appleleaf immediately darted forward as soon as Whirlstar sent the signal with his tail for them to cease waiting any longer and attack. He soon was heading toward a large, dark brown tabby tom, which he just then remembered was the newly made warrior, Tigerclaw. His green eyes blazing and his white needle-sharp claws unsheathed bare, he sprang at the big tabby with Shadowclan-like stealth, attempting to grab the tabby's shoulder's with his claws, and swing his weight around so that he was gripping the tabby's back.
Sandclaw's pupils became slits as she shot forward furiously. She almost couldn't have waited any longer to go out and rip those mangy Thunder rats to shreds, so she was in no hurry to hesitate once Whirlstar gave the signal to attack. She found herself hurling her slashing claws at the calico she-cat known as Patchsong, and quickly aimed a swipe at Patchsong's forehead, attempting to start off the battle with a painful scratch. Then, she immediately feinted ducking to the right, and threw herself at Patchsong, attempting to tackle the calico she-cat to the ground. For a young she-cat warrior, Sandclaw was known for her excellence in fighting, and her vicious nature, and her surprising strength and agility in combat.
Howlingwind and Emberpaw
Howlingwind's muscles tensed as he prepared to cross the Thunderpath. He knew very well that even a big, powerful warrior like himself could be killed by a monster on the Thunderpath, and it made him uneasy. At least they would finally be able to avenge their comrades. Howlingwind charged after Tigerstar, the clan thundering behind them, and as they reached the other side, Whirlstar gave the signal for Shadowclan to attack. From the Thunderpath to where the Shadowclan cats were standing before, the two clans met in the middle with screeching battle cries. Howlingwind was bounding among tussling bodies, and he spotted Ferntail, the Shadowclan's deputy. His amber eyes like blazing fire, and his jaws parted in a ferocious snarl, he lunged at the slender she-cat, simply attempting to use his weight to shove the smaller warrior to the ground by force. This was Howlingwind's fighting style, a battle of power and strength, where the stronger warrior wins...He still knew that he needed to be wary of any possible agility or stealth or speed from Ferntail, because no matter how strong he was, the smaller, more agile warriors always had some crafty strategy.
Emberpaw's legs were quivering as Tigerstar began to count down. He knew that he was strong, and he was, for the most part, confident in his ability to fight, but a real battle? What if cats died? What if one of his dear family members died? He didn't know what he would do if he lost them now. As Tigerstar led the charge, adrenaline burned in his veins and he shot forward with the rest of the clan. He felt like his paws barely touched the hard stony Thunderpath, he was running so hard. He was so relieved to feel grass under his paws again once he was on the other side, but also dreaded. Now they would face Shadowclan in a real battle. But the adrenaline exploded in his muscles, and he sprang forward at the nearest Shadowclan cat, a black she-cat known as Nightfeather, attempting to tackle her by colliding with her by the shoulders. Even for a young apprentice, he knew that he was already about as big as most she-cats, and bigger than the smaller warriors.

FERNTAIL. TIGERCLAW. YINFANG. BRIGHTPAW.
Ferntail listened to the conversation with great interest, her hackles were raised, and her muscles were prepared to pounce. She hissed as the leader crossed the border, her eyes placed firmly on her deputy, blazing with hatred. 'They will be with us while we fight for them Whirlstar, nobody takes our warriors without a good reason.' she mewed softly to the leader, just before he yowled for the fight to begin.
Tigerclaw hissed, he pounced across the border, her muscles rippling under his thick pelt. His amber eyes were wide, and all compassion was gone beneath the pain her felt for his lost clanmates. The impact of Appleleaf winded him slightly, the strong tom shook him off, twisting and turning in the cats grip. He slashed at Appleleaf's eyes, 'You will pay! he hissed in the toms ears, breaking free, and pouncing at the tom, his paws reaching out in attempt to lodge his claws in the skin that surrounded his shoulders.
Brightpaw looked around with fright, she was without her mentor in this battle, she spotted her brother fighting Nightfeather and pounced. 'Emberpaw, you'd have to be mouse-brained to take on a fully trained warrior on your own!' she hissed, joining him, slashing her paws at the cat, she was small, and slipped beneath her legs and attempted to pounce on her back, her claws ripped along the sleek back cat, as she tried to dig her teeth into one of her shoulders.
Yinfangs body tensed as she scented already blood, she saw Howlingwind leap at Ferntail, and she opened her mouth, 'Ferntail, quick!' she hissed, she was fighting nobdy, her tail lashed and her eyes gleamed with excitment in the heat of battle. 'Hiddenheart!' she mewed padding over quickly, her eyes watching every cat. 'Whats happened? Why did Thunderclan cross our border?' she whispered, looking around.
Ferntail tumbled, her eyes staring at Howlingwind, and she let out a chuckle. 'Suprise, suprise? I get to fight the kittypet.' she purred with delight, her eyes glowing with mischief. She lifted herself up, her haunches wiggled slightly as she pounced, but not at Howlingwind, she went to the side, swiftly movind herself so she was behind him, and tried to pull him to the ground by his scruff, her claws digging into his rump. 'Why would the loyal Thunderclan deputy want with killing our warriors?' she hissed into his ear.
