When my time comes Forget the wrongs that I've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed
--BASICS-- good men must die, but death cannot kill their names. -proverb
Name: Kestrelclaw
Reason behind name: Her fur resembles the color and has more or less the general pattern found on a kestrel. The -claw part of her name comes from her love for hunting as well as her cold-ish personality.
Gender: she-cat
Age: 29 moons
Position: warrior
Appearance: The Bengal cat has a sturdy build, with decent sized paws and a somewhat short tail. She moves with obvious confidence, her head high, but she does not strut. The way Kestrelclaw carries herself makes her appear very capable and self-sufficient, which, most of the time, she is. Her short, tan fur is marked with many black spots upon her back. Those spots turn into stripes on her legs, neck, face and tail. On her black tipped tail, the stripes grow fatter, and the fur looks more gray than brown. For the most part, the she-cat is one shade of brown. However, her underside and chest seems slightly paler than her back, which is more golden. Pale green eyes look out on the world, and large ears catch every sound they can. Not an overly large cat, Kestrelclaw can fit into fairly small places. Long whiskers rest on either side of a pink nose
Short Description: Bengal she-cat with pale green eyes
--PERSONALITY-- we continue to shape our personality all our life. If we knew ourselves perfectly, we should die. -albert campus
Personality:A sharp-tongued, fairly short tempered she-cat, Kestrelclaw often ends up antagonizing other cats, for she often speaks her mind, and does it very bluntly and with little tact. Kestrelclaw has little patience for anything, and knows this, but she doesn't try very hard to remedy it. She treats others with polite indifference, not asking any personal questions and expecting none in return. One has to earn her respect, and Kestrelclaw is not easily pleased. She expects the best of herself and other cats around her, greatly annoyed by laziness. However, she knows that she is not perfect and has her faults, but tries to work past them, therefor expecting others to do the same. She does not view herself as a particularly strong nor popular cat, but she does demand some respect from those around her. Many would not put it past her to use any of her skills to get something she wants, and those would be correct. Slippery and cunning, the she-cat has some honor, but is not above lying if she believes it will benefit either herself or her clan. From her behavior, the warrior would not make a good mentor, for she lacks the patience and teaching ability required, and Kestrelclaw does nothing to disprove this opinion. However, if she has to mentor an apprentice, she would do well with a quick-learner and an intelligent cat. The warrior believes herself very intelligent, and when training, often found that she hardly needed any techniques explained twice. Her ability to concentrate for a decent amount of time plays to her advantage in strategizing or hunting. This she-cat fears failure as well as helplessness and not being any use to her clan. Even though Kestrelclaw is a proud cat and holds her head high, she is very modest, not thinking that highly of herself. One would not find her bragging about past accomplishments, though she rarely offers encouragement to her clan-mates. If she encourages any cat, it would be an apprentice, for she knows that they are the future to the clan. The one thing she would be proud of, however, is her ability to keep a cool head and think her way out of a lot of problems. Mostly she prefers to remain distant and not get close to any other cat. Despite her somewhat cold persona, Kestrelclaw does not mind the company of other cats, as long as her companions are intelligent and capable of having a decent conversation, which tends to include sarcasm and dry humor. Her clan, of course, is the best of all of them, and Kestrelclaw will forever remain loyal to it. This warrior only hopes for the best for her clan. However, the she-cat fears that no one will miss her once she goes to StarClan. The warrior has no real close friends; Kestrelclaw is not an overly outgoing cat. Depending on the severity of the offense, the she-cat can hold a long grudge, though she mostly dismisses petty problems, forgiving the cat after a little while. Sometimes she feels guilty about her sharp tongue and causing any distress, specifically to kits or apprentices that have caught her on a bad day, but most of the time she ignores that emotion, not liking it. The she-cat, at first, thought that she might like kits one day, but she has realized that with her personality and short temper that she would not make a good mother. When offended or sad, Kestrelclaw hides behind a blank mask, showing no emotion. She deals with loss by burying it underneath other emotions and busying herself with hunting. Most of the time, the warrior confident in her abilities and a fully capable clan cat, at least this is the persona she allows others to see. Whenever she doubts herself, she makes sure that none of other cats see it, only the confident cat they believe her to be. Kestrelclaw tends to keep herself clean, though, oddly, she does not mind getting wet, sometimes enjoying rain. However, the mud that comes with rain annoys her a lot. Kestrelclaw knows when to fight her battles as well, and when to retreat and save what she can. When resolving conflicts, she prefers to use words instead of brute force, for the she-cat does know that she is not the strongest fighter and that other, bigger cats could beat her.
Ambition: Kestrelclaw has the obvious goal of becoming the best warrior of ThunderClan. She does not necessarily want to become leader, but does not think that she would do a horrible job.

Secrets:
- she holds a slight grudge against her father's new mate, for she believes that she stole her mother's spot in his heart
- wants to become friends with another cat, just doesn't really know how
Family: They are not particularly close, as Kestrelclaw tends to avoid her step-family. However, she occasionally talks with her sister, Doveflight, and her father.
History: Kestrelkit After a difficult birth, the she-cat and her brother and sister grew up healthy and active. Kestrelkit enjoyed play fighting with her siblings the most. Of that, her favorite part was sneaking up and pouncing on them, for that seemed to come naturally to her. The actual rolling and tumbling around was not that bad, but the real challenge always seemed to be posed by her brother, Falconkit. Her sister, Dovekit, was more laid back, preferring to stay by her mother’s side, a habit that Kestrelkit found extremely odd. Nothing extremely exciting happened while she was a kit; she explored camp, played with her siblings and the other cats, enjoyed her mother and father’s comfort and company, and, of course, dreamed of days when she would become the greatest warrior.
Kestrelpaw She was made an apprentice with her other siblings, and they soon began a friendly rivalry. Because of their competition to see who could catch the most prey or who was the best fighter, Kestrelpaw began to develop her sharp tongue and quick wit, as the three cats began to tease each other. During the first moon or so, the three apprentices were evenly matched, often finding time to go hunt together, remaining close. Falconpaw started showing more talent in fighting than anything else, while Kestrelpaw herself displayed more promise in hunting. Their sister just seemed to be decent at everything, not appearing to be a natural at anything. As they grew older and trained more, Kestrelpaw’s brother started growing more distant from the two. Slightly confused, the two she-cats made no move to stop him, figuring that it was a stage in life. However, it did not pass, and with his distance, Kestrelpaw’s brother split up the trio. Kestrelpaw and Dovepaw grew closer together, while their brother remained on the fringes, rarely joining in. While she and her sister were, and never will be, as close as Kestrelpaw and Falconpaw, they became close. Her sister had developed a sharp tongue of her own, and the two often amused themselves with a playful banter, throwing insults and come backs between them.
Kestrelclaw A newly made warrior, Kestrelclaw had felt as though nothing could burst her bubble of happiness. Her parents were still happily together and her mother was expecting once more. Still believing that she might make a decent mother, Kestrelclaw had been excited for the chance at having younger siblings and watching them grow. Soon the day came, and the kitting was just as hard as it had been the first time, when her mother had had Kestrelclaw, Falconwing and Doveflight. Only this time, her mother had lost a lot more blood. She was a frailer cat than her sturdy mate, and the blood loss affected her. The first kit was a stillborn tom. Kestrelclaw’s mother was not the only cat heart broken. The second kit was alive, but very sick. He did not survive the night. Combined with her weakness and the deaths of her second litter, Kestrelclaw believes that her mother simply gave up and lost the will to live. She died the next day.
Of course, Kestrelclaw was devastated, as were her siblings and father. This seemed to be the final straw for her Falconwing. The tom, which had grown more distant this whole time, left the clan the next night. He stopped to say his farewells to his father and sisters before departing, leaving behind the second half of his name and becoming Falcon. Kestrelclaw has not seen him since, and does not know how she would react if she does. With all these losses hitting her at once, Kestrelclaw withdrew into herself, hiding behind her walls. For the longest time, she threw herself into her duties for her clan, barely talking to anyone and snapping at the smallest things. Finally, after Doveflight approached her and bluntly told her how she was acting, the she-cat calmed down enough to hold a decent conversation with other cats and socialize again. She still retains some of that coldness.
Her father found another she-cat to care for, creating a torrent of mixed emotions inside his daughter. Of course, she was glad that he had moved on and was not dwelling on the past, but at the same time, she could not ignore the little anger inside of her for moving on and forgetting her mother. Kestrelclaw’s two halves clashed, her mature side verses her not so mature side, and eventually her older side won out. She still remains fairly distant and has never completely warmed up to the she-cat, though the two young additions to the family were welcome.
