 Throughout the eons there have been Gods and Prophets, Demons and darker things. They exist as our solace and guides – others live as our fears and lead us astray. But one things has remained unchanging in our long forgotten history, a motive lies behind every truth, lurks behind every lie. They give to us not out of pity or out of love, not out of goodness or charity; it is all to serve their own ideals. Bestowing gifts is a manner of currying favor, just as tormenting followers invokes support out of fear. Their motives are not so hard to discern from ours, their psyche is not an intricate paradigm. To them we are tools – not devoted disciples. And for centuries since their birth we have existed for their amusement, tormenting us with their games while we chase ourselves in the night. And how is it that we allow such to pass? Why have we not stopped and asked why we endure this treatment?
Because sometimes we really don’t want the answer.
