[ This is a roleplay that's happening before the camp flooding, between my characters and Bluemelon's. Others are invited to get involved! ]
EGGPELT, YELLOWEYE, TIGERKIT
The sun, high in the sky, letting rays of sunshine warm the Riverclan camp. Everyone was going about their usual business. From border and hunting patrols to training sessions with apprentices. The fresh kill pile seemed relatively well stocked, just as well stocked as Eggpelt's full belly as he rested on his side near the nursery. Something about hearing the young life inside eased the older warriors mind. His green-yellow eyes fell on the small shape of Tigerkit who had crawled from the nursery. At three moons old the small kit of Whitestar had proven to be a pawful for any cat who tried to look after him. Chest puffed out proudly as he started to walk around the front of the nursery entrance. A soft breeze ruffled Tigerkit's fur so he puffed out more. The kit appeared as a small, fluffy round ball. Eggpelt got a kick out of the kits antics and rested his head on his paws to watch as he tumbled around.
Yelloweye, however, had just entered the camp from a border patrol and as soon as he spotted the kit marched over to the nursery. "Tigerkit, you should be in the nursery." Stated the warrior with stern eyes which flickered to Eggpelt for a moment. The creamy furred and older warrior shrugged.
"I see nothing wrong with Tigerkit being out. After all, the young lad has an experienced warrior watching him." Meowed Eggpelt, who still seemed relaxed about the kit being out of the nursery. Tigerkit had let his fur lay flat and looked pointedly up at Yelloweye.
"Yeah! I don't need no watchin' o'er. I'm perrrrrfectly fine without the nursery protection!" Purred the kit, tail and head held high with a grin. "Besides, I'll be an apprentice in just three moons, and the best!" Boasted Tigerkit, green eyes sparkling bright with enthusiasm. Another soft breeze ruffled his fur and the frustrated Tigerkit gave an annoyed huff as he turned to face Eggpelt; but not before having given the sky a quick glance. Yelloweye still seemed unsure about the kit being out of the nursery, but shrugged and turned away -- headed for the fresh kill pile.
"Oh, I'm sure you'll be a great apprentice, Tigerkit, don't worry. But Yelloweye did have a bit of a point. While you're a kit you should probably stay close to the nursery. As not to get under the busy warriors paws. No one wants to scrape a kit off of their paw-pads!" He teased and rolled over into a ray of sunshine to enjoy the warmth. Tigerkit stomped his paws and dashed onto Eggpelt's belly.
"Are you sayin' I'm small Eggpelt? I ain't small!" Tigerkit insisted as he tried, in vain, to wrestle the well fed and large warrior. Eggpelt flailed his limbs and laughed.
"Oh no! A ghost has got meee!" Meowed Eggpelt with a warm laugh at the end. Tigerkit didn't seem amused however and tried harder to wrestle and move the older warrior, all still in vain. "Oh come on Tigerkit, I'm just teasing. You're not that small." Eggpelt meowed as he rolled to his side, which knocked Tigerkit off and the young cat stumbled around a bit. Clouds covered the sun for a brief moment before going on their way, giving the warmth of the light back.
"I told you! I told ya' I ain't small Eggpelt. And no kit can be so small they're invisible like a ghost, silly." Huffed the kit. "Besides, it's better than being fat." Tigerkit said with a wide smirk as he prodded Eggpelt's belly. Eggpelt rolled his eyes and got back onto his stomach to stretch out.
Meanwhile, over at the fresh kill pile, Yelloweye had picked up a fish and carried it some distance away to eat. The yellow-eyed warrior was only a few moons behind Eggpelt, yet the creamy colored warrior seemed to think that he had more authority or something. They were both warriors, after all! As a ray of light crossed Yelloweye's face, he moved back some more, into the shade. It wasn't that he didn't like the light, but when he was angry or fussy it was known that it could be read through his facial expression -- mostly his eyes. As Yelloweye began to eat, he hoped to have some company that would not pry into his issues but just talk of.. well, anything clan related.
