genius only comes along in storms of fabled foreign tongues
--BASICS-- good men must die, but death cannot kill their names. -proverb
Name: Cricketpaw
Reason behind name: He was called Cricketkit for his long, spindly limbs, which reminded his mother of a cricket's legs.
Gender: Male
Age: 8 moons
Position: Apprentice
Appearance: A spidery little cat with usually long limbs and constantly messy fur. He is very bright ginger, and his eyes are particularly deep, bright green. He is an oddly colorful cat, which is not helpful for hiding in the forest when he hunts, but he gets by. He has a very untidy look to him, as though he doesn't groom often.
Short Description: Bright ginger tom with green eyes
Character number: 4th Link: NOPE.
--PERSONALITY-- we continue to shape our personality all our life. If we knew ourselves perfectly, we should die. -albert campus
Personality: Cricketpaw's most striking attribute is his ridiculously developed mind. He is intelligent far beyond his age, regularly commenting on the conversations of even senior warriors with shocking clarity of thought and well-developed ideas. He's only been an apprentice for 2 moons, but there is already quiet talk of him becoming a warrior early because of his stunning progression. He is not particularly strong, but the way he can think through a battle and see his opponent's intentions makes him lethal; his great flaw is that he is far too aware of all this. He is impatient and arrogant, often treading on the nerves of the older warriors. He has no concern whatsoever for the feelings of other cats; he hardly seems to have any himself sometimes. He is practical and honest to the point of hurting others. Nothing matters to him but the outcome; the means by which a goal is achieved are of no importance.
Ambition: He is a surprisingly non-ambitious cat; he doesn't feel the need to prove himself to anybody, but he is always thirsting for more knowledge. He pesters the medicine cats quite a bit. Even though he is a warrior apprentice, he wants to know as much as possible- and he never forgets what he learns.
Fears:
Likes:
- Solitude
- Quiet
- Learning new things
- Talking with older cats
Dislikes:
- Being underestimated due to his age
- The ignorance of others
- Running long distances
- Loudness
Attitude towards strangers: He is not very strict about borders. He doesn't get as angry as most other cats at signs of intruders; they're more of an inconvenience or distraction to him than anything else.
Attitude towards Clanmates/familiar cats: He is aloof and opinionated. Everyone knows how ridiculously intelligent he is, and he takes great pride in that; few get into arguments with him because they know he'll rip into them mercilessly with his sharp tongue, but he's pretty mild-mannered if he's not irritated.
Three words describing cat overall: Intelligent, arrogant, introverted
--HISTORY-- experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. -oscar wilde
Secrets: Cricketpaw has no belief whatsoever in StarClan.
Family: Cricketpaw does not get along with his mother, Otterclaw. She lives in the elder's den now, and her volatile temper does not do well when her young son mouths off to her. He does, however, love his brother very much. Finchpaw is really the only cat who he treats with compassion and understanding.
History: It was clear from a young age that Cricketpaw was exceptional. He developed far faster than most kits, and never seemed to have that same playfulness. He was made an apprentice at exactly six moons- nobody could bear to wait any longer, with the way he was irritating the queens and stalking impatiently around the camp. His mother was moved to the elder's den once he was apprenticed, and since then things haven't changed much- he is very intrusive on the conversations of older cats, but nobody can deny that his ideas are often excellent.
